International 91´óÉñs Requirements

Because 91´óÉñ offers rolling admission, we don’t have admission application deadlines. However, students MUST be admitted in order to request an I-20 immigration form, and I-20 forms MUST be requested before the following dates:

  • Fall Semester: June 1
  • Spring Semester: October 1
  • Summer Semester: February 1

International students should apply through their Charger account and have their academic transcripts and test scores and language proficiency test scores ready to submit. We require a nonrefundable application fee of $50.

You must submit certified academic records in the original language with a certified English translation for every institution you’ve attended.

As an applicant, you are responsible for contacting a credentialed evaluation agency directly so that the agency can send the official evaluation report to 91´óÉñ; copies will not be accepted by 91´óÉñ. Acceptable evaluation services are as follows:

Apply online through your Charger Status account and pay the $50 application fee. Here are some more important things you can do with this account in addition to applying for admission and checking your application status:

  • Track what items have been received by the Office of 91´óÉñs.
  • View a to-do list of next steps to help you stay on track.
  • Register for daily campus visits and events.
  • Receive important information regarding the admission process, scholarship opportunities, and upcoming events.

If English is not your native language, you must submit a score that meets 91´óÉñ’s English proficiency requirements. 91´óÉñ reserved the right to verify the applicant's English proficiency when deemed necessary. We prefer TOEFL or IELTS scores (91´óÉñ TOEFL School Code: 1854), but we also accept other forms of language assessment options. In order to be eligible for admission, students must achieve one of the following:

  • TOEFL iBT, TOEFL Essentials, TOEFL iBT Special Home Addition: All sub-scores must be ≥ 18.
  • IELTS Indicator: All sub-scores must be ≥ 6.0.
  • Duolingo: Students must achieve a total score of 105 (with each sub-score ≥ 100).
  • Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE Academic): Students must achieve a total score of 48.
  • You do not need to submit an English proficiency score if 1) English is your native language or 2) you have graduated from an accredited high school or university in the United States.

If you are an F1 or a J1 student, you must also submit an affidavit of financial support for $42,330 and documents (such as an official bank letter) that prove that you or your sponsor have access to fluid funds sufficient to cover at least one year's tuition and living expenses. U.S. permanent residents will be required to submit a copy of your permanent resident card.

Types of Student Visas Sponsored by 91´óÉñ

91´óÉñ is authorized to issue the necessary immigration documents (I-20 for F status and DS-2019 for J status) to international students.

  • An F1 visa is what most international students use to come to the United States for specified academic studies.
  • A J1 visa is for students who come to the United States for educational or cultural exchange programs. These students are usually not seeking a degree and are here for shorter educational experiences.

Once you are admitted, you will receive an email notification on how to obtain your necessary documents. The information provided will enable you to make your consulate appointment in order to get your appropriate visa.
